Reducing writes to flash
ok - so I finally figured out what the numbers meant in the docs about the crontabs line.. So I changed it to what will show in the following, and also changed the webmon and time_backup ones too. :: 0 0,12 * * * date -u +"%Y.%m.%d-%H:%M:%S" >/usr/data/time_backup 0,1,11,21,31,41,51 * * * ...

Re: Feature Request: One-Click User Activity
I think that might be a neat option to have. But first I'd like to see less writing to the flash to save its lifespan. For me that type of info would be mostly a curiosity. However, after that, I think it could also be useful for parents to monitor what their kids might be doing. (Even though I'm no...

Re: WZR-HP-AG300H
Yeah - I had OpenWRT on my Linksys WRT54GSv3 back in the day. It was nice playing around with it's complexity, but after a while I got sick of dealing with it and just went to Tomato. I'm hoping as Gargoyle matures later on, there could be an option to turn on advanced configuration pages for when o...

Jumbo frames
I'm wondering if Gargoyle will support Jumbo frames or not? Or is that kind of thing handled in hardware only? I have 2 machines that are set to ~9k Jumbo frames(IIRC). I don't know how well it's working or if it is at all.. I've forgotten how to check into that kind of thing. Thanks again. Getting ...

Choice of where and how often to save BW and web search data
As the title suggests, it would be awesome to have a choice of where and how often to save such data.. Ala - Tomato style. For those concerned about writing too often to the flash (which I believe is the same as nvram on home routers), this feature could make us breath a little easier. :) Even if th...

Re: FTP to router?
ok - thanks.. I'll investigate those later, but as as you say, I would worry about security too - I didn't really think of that.
In the meantime - if someone has successfully used any of them with Gargoyle, please speak up.

Re: I got a dlink 2740b and want to install gargoyl. Possibl
My understanding is that it has to be supported by AT LEAST OpenWRT stable for it to work. What I did is bought a router specifically FOR Gargoyle - Netgear WNDR 3800. VERY happy with it! VERY!! And this was after trying my luck with getting a V2 of WNDR3700... I got a V3, wouldn't you know it. :rol...

FTP to router?
I'm wondering if this could be possible, even if I have to figure out how to use and install something via opkg.. The reason I'm wondering is because it would be nice to use Directory Opus [supreme file manager] to change router configs and whatnot within it's listers. Not even the Advanced FTP modu...

Why is BW data so important to some people?
I've been asking a question in one of the other sections about how to change things so bandwidth data isn't save to flash - or at least not as often as every 4 hours... And have yet to receive any kind of reply. However when doing some searching, I've found some people requesting that it be saved to...

Re: Trivial data saved to flash??
Ok, so I've done some more digging around within the Gargoyle structures via WinSCP... I found an area that looks like it might allow me to change where the BW monitor and websearches are saved: In /etc/config/webmon_gargoyle, i see: option 'domain_save_path' '/usr/data/webmon_domains.txt' option 's...
