Re: 40Mhz impossible? (TP-Link 1043 V2.1)

Right, you have to do the reghack thing I posted. Reason is, when Eric and OpenWRT compile images, they have to abide by the regulatory requirements. If you want to go around those, it's your call/responsibility. I compile my own OpenWRT trunk versions and in compile options, I have it ignore any of...

Re: Maximum image size/alternate config storage

The problem with the D-Link DIR 600/601/615 versions is that they really don't have 4MB flash available. These models have a built-in recovery mode so you can recover even if you do a bad or incorrect firmware flash to the router. That's why you'll notice the "factory" images are about 3.7...

Re: Gargoyle-ispy 2014-February-16.7z

Hey buddee, Are you interested in trying out some OpenWRT trunk builds to see if it resolves your wireless issues? I'm running Trunk 39770 on my WZR-HP-G300NH-V1 and it's SOLID The Barrier Breaker branch is amazing for wireless stability. Let me know and I can send some images your way if you want t...

Re: Cisco modem/router in one

This is very possible but be aware, some services don't like going
through 2 devices like this.

Most internet stuff will work, but some specialized programs won't.

Yep it's all tied together.

That reghack will allow 40 mhz, all the other channels, etc.

Re: Unable to change firmware from Gargoyle 1.6.0

You will have to do the DD-WRT TFTP recovery method Use one of the DD-WRT images to flash back when you do this BUT You need to do this on a Windows XP machine or if you have some Linux knowledge, you can try a linux machine recovery Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8 have upgraded the TCP/IP sta...

Re: Uptime - can you beat this?

Nice! Always thought about getting a Router Station Pro

Can't justify any need for it though.

Plus I'm always compiling new builds of OpenWRT Trunk
or flashing new test versions of DD-WRT

Can't ever keep decent up-time.

Re: Version 1.6.0

I can tell you that since 1.5.8 the AP and Wirless Bridge combo function for TL841ND v5 and v7 (tested today) does not work. I cannot update either of these devices to any revision past 1.5.6 and expect the router to act simultaneously as an access point and a wireless bridge. The wireless will not...
