Re: Version 1.4.2
I've just flashed to 1.13.16 (had previously been using 1.13.15 with some success prior to using 1.14.2). QTR, it's interesting that you note some connectivity issues too. Please everyone note that I'm not getting at a bit of packet loss (which would be expected on a highly utilized connection) but ...

Re: Version 1.4.2
QTR, I also had that issue with mine the other day when saving some QoS settings, but haven't had it recur since, so just put it down to a one-off...router crashed completely, all LAN access was lost and the problem persisted through multiple reboots. Reflashed it via TFTP and it has been ok since, ...

Re: Version 1.4.2
Getting bad packet loss when large numbers of sessions are running through the router. LAN connectivity stays up fine, but WAN goes bonkers. Re: Version 1.3.16 -- Second Release Candidate
Hey Eric, sorry i've taken a while to get back to you. Since I had that problem I've flashed the router and back in order to try to solve another problem I had (patching upstream OpenWRT). Can't seem to replicate my wireless not starting issue anymore...seems to be working fine. Odd, but even puttin...

Re: Version 1.3.16 -- Second Release Candidate
Eric: Yeah, have seen it refuse to take. Might be a bug in the upstream OpenWRT implementation. The router doesn't seem to know what the TX power limits are. Try the command below and see if you get unknown txpower information... root@Gargoyle:/# iwlist txpower lo no transmit-power information. eth0...

Re: Version 1.3.16 -- Second Release Candidate
Eric, just got around to installing the new version. Quick issue with the new wireless power settings; these are not just limited by the reg domain, there are also hardware limitations. For example, the WNDR3700 that I have does 27dBm for 20MHz channel 2.4GHz, 22dBm for 40MHz and 23dBm for all 5GHz ...

Re: Version 1.3.16 -- Second Release Candidate
You can choose what ever the country code you want regardless where you live. You really, really shouldn't do this. You should set the correct reg domain, and only that. You probably won't interfere with anything important at the power levels achievable by your wireless router, but you could at the...

Re: Version 1.3.15
Demetris: to add options to your wireless config, ssh to your router, login as root, cd to /etc/config, enter "vim wireless", press I (to activate insert mode), and under the device section enter "option 'noscan' '1'". To save press escape then type ":wq". Then back at ...

Re: Version 1.3.15
Demetris, try changing the channel down/up one if you are in 5ghz band. In 5ghz, you may only use certain channel pairs. Gargoyle uses ht+ mode, so always channel above in addition to the one you select. With 5ghz mode, this means illegal channel pairs are displayed...I think I reported this somewhe...

Re: Version 1.3.15
No worries Eric, & thanks by the way for putting out such a great bit of firmware. Might be an idea to default MTU to 1492 where PPPoE mode is selected...most routers seem to do it that way. 1454 would be the other good option as it avoids wasting bytes on the line. Also will avoid issues like I...
