Re: QoS the next generation
After compiling, what are the various .img files created? I assume we use gargoyle_1.3.x-x86-generic-combined-jffs2-128k.img as that is what is in the main downloads?

Re: QoS the next generation
To compile the images, ensure you have the correct dependencies installed.
On Kubuntu Lucid you'll need:
All from apt repository.
and libc6-dev-i386 if you're running a 64bit OS.

Code: Select all
build-essential flex libc6-dev zlib1g-dev bison libncurses5-dev

Re: Quotas; 1 user with many computers.
Just give it a go and see what happens. You'll quickly work out if you got it right.
"All hosts without explicit quotas (combined)" gives each computer the ability to go up to the limit, so what you're proposing makes sense and should work.
Report back with how you get one.

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
Worked on Open-Mesh MR3201A using Gargoyle 1.2.3.
Impossibly easy with fon flash utility.

Re: WDS with single port routers?
I can confirm that WDS works with single port routers. I've been using a pair of MR3201A (ex open-mesh) which are Atheros based, running Gargoyle 1.2.3.
But there is a bit of bug at the moment, see http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... 442&p=3319 for details.

Re: Gateway + WDS bug
I can confirm this bug on a MR3201A (Open-mesh hardware).
If you set Configure Device As: to Gateway and Wireless Mode to AP+WDS then save settings it will automatically change to Wireless Bridge/Repeater and Connect via WDS.

Re: Which mode?
WDS should also do what you want. And as the Fon2200's are Atheros based that should work fine.

Re: Phone adapter + gargoyle.
I believe its due to the fact the gargoyle takes longer to boot up and start the dhcp server than your VOIP adapter. So the VOIP adapter boots up and requests a DHCP lease (IP) but the the gargoyle router is still loading. If you set a manual IP address on the VOIP adapter does this solve the problem?
