Migration from OpenWrt Backfire to Gargoyle
Before doing actual steps - I'd like to consult with people who did it before. What should be migration path from OpenWrt Backfire (10.03.1) to Gargoyle? I have TP-Link WR841ND v5 (Atheros chipset), with OpenWrt installed from here I was using openwrt-ar71xx-tl-wr841nd-v5-squashfs-factory.bin image ...

Re: bandwidth usage
From Gargoyle FAQ: Why do you only report bandwidth usage on the WAN interface? All the other firmwares allow me to monitor ALL the interfaces! This was a well thought-out decision, and there are several reasons for this. Basically, bandwidth between local hosts on a LAN is almost always plentiful a...

Re: bandwidth usage
I have posted screenshot to my blog how bandwidth monitoring on br0 interface works / looks like in TomatoUSB firmware.
It seems LAN traffic is monitored and displayed correctly.
Would it be possible to implement similar Bandwidth Monitoring for LAN (bridge br0) in Gargoyle?

Re: WDS setup using Gargoyle
I tested this between two ath9k routers (which I believe these are). This should work. Yes, those routers are using Atheros / ath9k Your answer suggests there is no specific tuning required? Access Point (WDS) setup which I defined in OpenWrt Backfire results in interface settings for wlan as "...

Re: bandwidth usage
Eric, Thank you for explanation. Would it be possible to implement Traffic Monitoring/Statistics for LAN (br-lan) interface? Or per-VLAN basis? DD-Wrt and Tomato are capable to provide traffic monitoring for LAN (br0). See screenshot http://vplessky.blogspot.com/2010/11/tomato-127-firmware-realtime-...

WDS setup using Gargoyle
I'd like to implement WDS setup using two routers flashed with OpenWrt/Gargoyle. Routers are based on Atheros chipset (TP-Link WR1043ND, WR841ND) Wireless settings in OpenWrt have options: - Access Point (WDS) - Client (WDS) What is equivalent for those operation modes in Gargoyle (if it possible to...

Re: bandwidth usage
Hmm... can you confirm you're downloading the file from a computer that's not on your local network? Gargoyle is only monitoring the bandwidth used on the WAN interface, which means local network traffic is not monitored. Eric, can you please elaborate on this? I have several computers connected to...

TP-Link WR1043ND stock firmware -> to Gargoyle
Just bought one more router - TP-Link WR1043ND . It is working fine with native (stock) firmware[wireless, routing/PPPoE, UPnP] , but I'd like to have Torrent (Transmission) and probably some simple SIP server installed. And good GUI for Network Traffic, CPU usage, WLAN statistics. (could not get it...

Re: need some help pls..
where would correct file be available for download then, for 741nd,to flash straight from the stock tplink web interface? My guess is that you need this file - gargoyle_1.3.5-ar71xx-tl-wr741nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin second file gargoyle_1.3.5-ar71xx-tl-wr741nd-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin is for &quo...

OpenWrt Backfire 10.03.1-RC3 to Gargoyle
Hello, I have TP-Link WR-841ND v5 router (4MB flash, Atheros chipset) which I recently flashed with OpenWrt Backfire 10.03.1-RC3 . Question is what is needed (and if it is safe) to reflash it with Gargoyle firmware? As flash on this router is just 4MB, I don't have space to add Gargoyle UI manually ...
