Running on fonera 2100 for a week to see how it behaves .

You can use de Wireless Bridge mode of gargoyle.
This way you get internet to your wired network.

Have you tried adding option 'country' '<country code>' to the 'wifi-device' section of /etc/config/wireless file? I tried to add
ath_ahb countrycode=<country code> to .etc/modules/50-madwifi

But does not seam to work.
