Re: Best router for Gargoyle
I have WNDR3700v2 and im telling you to purchase it NOW. Dont think. Just do it. WNDR3700v2 + Gargoyle > rofl everything else. (Yes the CPU is blazing fast). Did that on Friday, so far so good. With no QoS the 3700v2 runs at 100 Mbits down, flat chat in other words! With QoS enabled for the VoIP I ...

Re: Best router for Gargoyle
If you look at the page
http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/r ... harts/view
The 3700v2 seems to be the highest powered router that supports Gargoyle. Can someone else check to make sure I have not made a mistake?
It has 4 times the throughput of the TP-Link.

Re: Best router for Gargoyle
My speed of connection is 100 MBits down and 1 MBit up. The CPU is pretty much flat chat at this speed.

Best router for Gargoyle
While I have the TP-Link 1043nd running Gargoyle. It's performance is not the greatest. The CPU is somewhat underpowered to make Gargoyle "fly". If I had to purchase a replacement router that was better, what's the best performing Gargoyle router available? I was thinking the WNDR3700 v2 m...

Many thanks, will do so.
I must say that the Gargoyle interface is excellent and the logging and control top notch. Keep up the good work guys!

Re: TP-Link G and N Performance
Another point. For my wireless n devices that I do have, the maximum speed that I can connect at for my two wireless n devices is 65 Mbits, which, for the 1043nd, seems a little low. On reading more about wireless N on wikipedia, it possibly appears that Gargoyle/OpenWRT has only configured one ante...

TP-Link G and N Performance
I was looking at the differences in performance between G and N (20Mhz) today from a G laptop. I was video streaming www.abc.net.au iView. If I set the router to B+G, channel 6 and watched iView, it had smooth playback. If I then switched the router to B+G+N (20Mhz) on channel 6 (the only change), t...

Re: Gargoyle Performance
Technically, it's probably not so much a Gargoyle performance issue but an OpenWRT performance issue. Perhaps asking the question in the OpenWRT forum may produce an answer. The logs that Gargoyle captures do impact performance but I don't think there is any way I would turn them off as they are so ...
