The wndr3700v2 is capable WAN2LAN at max 430 mbps. So even with stock firmware thats the max throughput even with Gbit ports.

Yes i was thinking about hardware nat vs software nat. So maybe thats an issue. HARDWARE NAT - 1000mbps SOFTWARE NAT - i dont know, maybe max 200mbps If u want 3rd party firmware, thats the price to pay. Maybe it is too slow to handle this much data speed. Maybe 680mhz cpu is not enough for 250mbps.

Range on WDR3600 is really poor, because the power of chip is low.
Old wr1043nd has superior range VS wdr3600.
But one thing you can do, is to change channel to 144 (5ghz) or higher (it has higher output power on the chip).
For 2.4ghz it is "ok".
