In NZ well really only have PPPoA so I don't really understand other set-ups

It doesn't look like he has added a custom DNS address?You should remove 192.168.1.82 from your DNS list, as it is your router.

Looks like you are using a Public IP address on a private IP device?

I suspect if you manually put a DNS IP address on your client PC it will work?
