Re: QoS Download Speeds

Its a known problem with fast internet speeds. That's what I've become aware of just lately. I've run Gargoyle for a long time but never bothered with QoS till about the last week and wasn't even aware of "Bufferbloat" I appreciate everyone's input as I realize a lot of this has likely be...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

Your post shows your CPU is overloaded at 86Mbps so you have not done yet anything different CPU wise. Half of 86Mbps is 43Mbps. Please enter 43Mbps on your download page. If the CPU is still saturated try 20Mbps. It doesn't get near 1.00 when total download bandwidth is set to 43000 kbits and QoS ...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

Your last post shows your CPU time is over 1.0 on your router and you have saturated your CPU. Everything becomes unpredictable in this situation. To confirm cut your download speed (on the QoS download page) in half and you should see that your performance is then stable in time. That will confirm...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

Are you able to show the same information when it has dropped? Here's the same ACC settingsabout 8 hours later: I'm now downloading at about 6.3MiB/sec on my download site. I turned QoS off, and tested again and the same site jumps to 13.5MiB/s. Nothing else on my network is currently using bandwid...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

Need a screenshot of you flogging the connection while it is cutting the bandwidth to see what is going in ACC. This screenshot is while downloading a 2GB file via SFTP with nothing else using the connection. I'm getting about 8.5Mib/s Normally, without QoS at all I'd get 13+. This test is just aft...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

I'd also try a different ping target IP (e.g. 8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1), as my gateway IP (default setting) didn't work quite well. I've tried that too. It all seems so hit or miss. Like I said, I think I have settings that are working great then a few hours later the download speeds have gone to pot. I wo...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

You’re using ACC right? It’s just ACC doing its job. Provide a screenshot of your ACC status beforehand, change it and do the same tests and report back. It should be much better yes, ACC was turned on. Here's the beforehand when I was getting about 70 down. https://i.imgur.com/3EUJMYe.jpg I then s...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

@gelliss Have you considered that your CPU might be maxing out? check CPU load I did look at it. Here's my memory and cpu load while running a dslreports speed test that showed 80Mb down. Without QoS it's 118 down. They don't appear out of the ordinary but then again I don't know what's considered ...

Re: QoS Download Speeds

Update: Just tried setting my download speed to 1.1gbps and I got a full 940mbps down. I'm sure I'm never going to saturate my download line and mainly use QoS for bufferbloat/upload, but I would still like to figure out why I can't set it to an accurate number to get close to full speed. I tried A...

Re: Speed vs bufferbloat and looking for some advice...

Were you able to reach ~100MB just by flashing the latest build? Not touching BWMon or anything? If so, that's quite interesting... Close though it varies a bit from one test to another. Flashing to the latest build and without QoS, I was still getting 118.x down and 11.x up on the dslreports tests...
