Perhaps you could test whether you have the same issue with the current 1.15.x beta as that's where development effort is going?

Try flushing your browser cache, or try a different browser.

HTTPS mode uses a self generated certificate; just about all browsers whinge about this now so you have to accept an exception.

Just a pedantic accuracy correction: the Flint 2 is well supported by OpenWrt (and thus the Gargoyle beta @Lantis mentioned) however the earlier Flint - which is still available - is not (it uses a completely different chipset which is only in the early stages of OpenWrt support).

You can figure this out yourself using the config Backup function (in System -> Backup / Restore ) - the backup output is an archive of all the core config files so you can compare each file for changes across the exported backups. I could test this on another router first, i think there is no chance in bricking is there? Worst case just replacing the WiFi packages is that you lose access via WiFi.
