Re: not happy with version 1.11

Gargoyle 1.10 is based on OpenWrt 15.05, which has not received any updates in several years. This would be an insurmountable task, and certainly not something I'm willing to do. If you have specific complaints I will look at addressing them, but I'm also not a miracle worker. If your device is olde...

Re: WRT1900 ACS v2

Depends on what you consider high.
Some devices will have higher ping due to power saving mode, and generally you can't do anything about it.

I'm not aware of any third party support for this one.

Re: Bandwidth Monitoring Table - Public IP Addresses Showing Usage

Connect via would need to change to (likely) DHCP Wired. From the LAN on your upstream device you would plug into WAN on Gargoyle.

This will create a new subnet, so make sure the LAN of upstream and downstream are different.

Re: Bandwidth Monitoring Table - Public IP Addresses Showing Usage

The bandwidth monitor isn't designed to work in a LAN to LAN configuration lime you've described. Gargoyle must be in gateway mode to get any benefit from the features it provides. You currently have it in what we would call "dumb switch/AP" mode. So showing external address usage is proba...

Re: QOS question for gaming

The BW percentage only dictates what happens at full load on the link.
Below that, the maxbw setting will still apply.

Test your settings and see what happens.

Re: QOS question for gaming

I don't have a setup applicable to you.
Just follow the wiki, see where you get to, and if you get stuck post back with your configuration and see if anyone can assist you.

Re: QOS question for gaming

You want one fast and one slow class at the minimum.
If you can make your rules highly targeted, you will be able to prioritise only the traffic you want.
If you prioritise just the IP, there are risks that other traffic (e.g. downloads)

Re: QOS question for gaming

Qos will help smooth the connection and ensure that both of you can't saturate the line.
It won't entirely remove the ping spikes, but may be able to reduce them.
The wiki has various guides, including one for gaming.
