Re: Open VPN

I believe VPN is used for accessing the router and your internal network form the outside. It shouldn't disturb access of devices from inside the LAN. I've yet to setup and test myself, though...

Re: Netgear Nighthawk R6700v2 Ac1750

I wasn't able to find much in terms of custom roms for this device. https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Netgear_R6700v2 says there's no dd-wrt for this device. It's not listed in https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/netgear/start so bad luck. https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=308936&postdays=0&...

Re: Video/Media Slowdown Issues

Thanks, I'll try that! Is that any different than rebooting the router? Well, it's less than rebooting. Takes only a second or two and simply restarts the wireless interface. This should in turn close all open connections on wifi and shouldn't affect wired connections. I'm fresh out of ideas now :-...

Re: Video/Media Slowdown Issues

You're right. Plenty of free disk space, low memory and CPU usage, no obvious reason for any slowdowns as far as I can see. I've had some slowdowns myself, that were not quota related: My Archer C7 is operating as Wifi-Client to connect to the DSL router upstairs. Some connections slow down over tim...

Re: Gargoyle 1.11.0 Release Candidate 1

Any special reason for missing 1043ND v1.0 through v3.0? I've seen only v4 :-(

Re: Video/Media Slowdown Issues

I'm not sure how to ssh into the router and check with df and top if there is high CPU usage or missing space in memory or file systems . I guess I can try to look that up? Easy. On a computer running Linux (and perhaps a Mac, too), open a shell and issue the command "ssh" with the IP of ...

Re: Video/Media Slowdown Issues

When I set up the MAC address filtering, the static IPs, and the IP ranges for the quotas, I am copying and pasting the information out of a spreadsheet into the router. Would you expect that to cause any issues? It shouldn't, but you never know. Would it help to save the (know-working) settings wh...

Hi there,

is Gargoyle vulnerable, and if so, will there be patched versions available?

Re: 1.11.x gargoyle-ispy 2018-July-12 06:01

Wouldn't it be better to leave them in and enable Gargoyle to use V6? I've got V6 available, but can't make use of it due to Gargoyle being my main router.

Just a thought, don't know if it would even be possible or how much work would be involved. Low priority, anyway.

Re: Wireless bridge/repeater in Archer C7 v2 1.10.0

I mean the lost connection between Gargoyle and the AP it is connected to. With the ping watchdog, Gargoyle can monitor this connection and restart it if it fails to get answers over that link. That's what the command "wifi" is for, it pulls down and restarts the entire wireless interface....
