Re: Archer C7 v2 and 5GHz Transmit Power

The location selection is made only once, after the default configuration. However, the selection is based on known information (mtd partition, u-boot environment, WiFi card environment) - but it is not entirely objective. If you are from Finland, I recommend manually changing the location to FI: uc...

Re: Archer C7 v2 and 5GHz Transmit Power

The commands are correct, but in my opinion, this will not help you (I recommend restarting the router for the changes to take effect).

:!: I still warn, do not violate the established standards and performance for your location! Gargoyle is a community that follows established standards and laws.

Re: [TL-WR1043ND V3] How do I go back to stock?

It depends on your hardware version (V1.x, V2.x, ...). You must have "stripped firmware": https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr1043nd#back_to_original_firmware or https://www.friedzombie.com/tplink-stripped-firmware/ V1: https://www.friedzombie.com/tplink-stripped-firmware/download.ph...

Re: Archer C7 v2 and 5GHz Transmit Power

In my opinion, 27dbm maximum PCI-E performance will be 5GHz card. Already in OpenWrt Chaos Calmer rc3 this performance was recorded (https://dev.archive.openwrt.org/ticket/ ... #comment:3).

Archer C7 V3.0 also only max 27dbm: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32531836861.html

Re: How to preserve plugins across minor upgrades

I do this as follows: 1. I will back up the configuration via GUI 2. Upgrade without retaining the settings 3. I will log in via ssh and install the plugins: gpkg update gpkg install plugin-gargoyle-ddns gpkg install plugin-gargoyle-openvpn 4. I will restore the backup via GUI 5. Restart the router ...

Re: Stable/Fastest Gargoyle Router

I have just brought the Linksys WRT32Xb. The original Linksys firmware has some optimizations for XBox gaming which I don't care for. Apart from this small Linksys firmware change it's the same hardware as the normal WRT32X and accepts the normal Gargoyle WRT32X image firmware files. Have actually ...

Re: Using my old Gargoyle router / WR1043ND with OpenDNS

Set it exactly as shown. OpenDNS: https://i.imgur.com/YIcWapr.png OpenDNS FamilyShield: https://i.imgur.com/g3KPhvT.png After setup, I recommend restarting the router for the changes to take effect (and computers). Note that OpenDNS is only DNS and there is a DNS cache, and it is important to clean ...

Re: L2TP/PPTP proxy server

I personally prefer OpenVPN. PPTP violates the provisions of the NSA. The protocol is classified as very dangerous.

Re: WRT1900AC USB Modem Always Disconected After 24 Hours

There are known problems with this USB modem (depending on the number of firmware). Try uploading another modem firmware from here: https://www.lteforum.at/mobilfunk/firmw ... -mod.2691/

Re: Unexpected wifi connection from subnet

I understand the involvement of methods together: a. ISP <-> WAN [Modem/Router, Subnet 192.168.0.0/24] <-> WiFi [eg SSID: NETGEAR09] b.
