Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-03-23
A new version (2026-03-23) has been posted. It fixes PPPoE issues that have been discussed in this thread (uptime display and bandwidth monitor). It should also fix the bandwidth monitor losing data on connections which are short-lived. Feedback on this item in particular is appreciated. A few othe...

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
Thanks.
I did not think I was crazy, but I was slightly frustrated as I know if dev unable to find/re-produce the issue -- it will never be fixed.
Now I have a hope.

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
I've just flashed the FW without preserving settings and only made the following changes: - password/timezone on first login; - System | Identification: name & domain, Save; - Connection | Basic: pppoe (login & password), disabled 'connect via', ticked 'drop ping from WAN', added custom DNS ...

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
Instead you might need to look in the logs for “pppd” (which handles your pppoe connection) to be making noise. Forced re-init, here what I have in system log (sorry, masked IP/MACs): Mon Feb 16 18:58:00 2026 daemon.err uhttpd[4816]: uci: Invalid argument Mon Feb 16 18:58:01 2026 daemon.info dnsmas...

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
Where can I get this information on router if I'm still on version 1.15.x_20250331? Logread plugin is installed and it shows records for the last 20 hours right now. However, there is nothing containing 'netifd', 'lease' or 'wan' in the system log right now. Should I re-connect to ISP to get this in...

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
I was having very similar problem with all downloads shown as zeroes (see above in this thread), but I upgraded preserving settings.
I was not able to find time and flash the new version without preserving settings yet.

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
Caching was not an issue as I also tried different browser (that I never used with old gargoyle) and zeroes are coming in response from server (checked in browser dev tools). As for flashing without preserving settings -- this is a bit tricky as configuring everything from the scratch taking a few h...

Re: DHCP question
Thanks. Well, this configuration is working for years. However, I wanted to double check if it is OK that some IPs configured as static on DHCP are outsize of DHCP range as I faced some issues with the most recent version of Gargoyle and noticed discussion about IP inside/outside DHCP range in "...

DHCP question
I'd like ho have: - 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.99 -- personal devices (PC, laptops, wearables) with statically assigned IPs (in DHCP, not configuring manually it on devices) - *.100 - *.199 -- dynamic (anything that is *not* assigned statically) - *.200 - *.254 -- local services (NAS, printers, web cam...
