Re: My QoS rules for gaming, browsing/streaming, torrents and bufferbloat
I spent some more time researching and experimenting. These are my current rules: https://i.imgur.com/gGNajEs.png https://i.imgur.com/JygJ5Dz.png The only notable change is that I merged the first two download classes into one without losing much functionality, as I theorized earlier. Packet lengths...

Re: Found a way to break QOS?
You should upgrade and change this line as well and report your results. I can't, that's why I asked if 1.10 had a similar setting. 1.11 runs heavy and unstable on my aging device, especially with some additional services enabled (like adblocking), which I consider to be essential. The chart on the...

Re: Found a way to break QOS?
Pbix, am I right to assume that said code changed across Gargoyle versions? I'm currently running 1.10.0 on a TP-Link TL-WR1043N/ND v1, but can't find the relevant code in the mentioned file. I have a 30/3 line so I'd like to try it myself to see if there are any improvements. This also makes me won...

Re: Found a way to break QOS?
Assign static IPs to devices using DHCP: PC1, RouterB, RouterC Configure QoS Download with classes: [bandwidth%, class name, match criteria] 25%, STREAMING, IP of PC1 and ports used by streaming 25%, BUILDINGB, IP of RouterB 25%, BUILDINGC, IP of RouterC 25%, BUILDINGA, <default service class> If yo...

Re: Found a way to break QOS?
I found multiple things about your posts rather confusing. So perhaps it would be the best to start over by clarifying things and as pbix already suggested, aim for the simplest possible config that can possibly work. Build it one step at a time and ensure each step works as intended instead of tryi...

Re: My QoS rules for gaming, browsing/streaming, torrents and bufferbloat
By adding the IP specific rules you are also entirely circumventing the rest of the setup in question. I'd suggest removing them, testing again and sharing the results, then if you feel like it you can readd them. Although if those upload rules were invalid like fifonik said, you might have tested i...

Re: My QoS rules for gaming, browsing/streaming, torrents and bufferbloat
The original post is more or less the documentation of what I've found. Guess it's better to do a TLDR then. I have not found the default rules particularly effective in the context of gaming or dealing with concurrent services running on the same device. I think the problems are: 1. The packet rang...

My QoS rules for gaming, browsing/streaming, torrents and bufferbloat
Summary This is a summary of QoS rules I'm currently using. My goal was to create a good all-around ruleset for gaming, web browsing/streaming and torrents. All of this without having to hunt down and specify port ranges constantly. I'm posting this to see if others would have similar success with ...

Re: Version 1.11.0 : Based on OpenWrt 18.06
Just reporting back that removing the adblock plugin and disabling the plugin sources other than gargoyle's own have made running 1.11 fairly stable. Still feels slower than before, but I haven't noticed any particularly glitchy behavior.

Re: Version 1.11.0 : Based on OpenWrt 18.06
Thanks for all the responses! I realize the device is fairly weak by now, but probably will still be adequate for my needs for some time. I just wasn't sure if 1.11 is expected to have a larger footprint in general which would explain the problems cropping up now (as opposed to just some obscure bug...
