I've been in and out of Gargoyke so often I had assumed my TV (as a device) was connected to the network. Duh! It wasnt.

Connect Smart TV to wireless network on 2.4GHz band
Set up Chrome cast on the same SSID

Well, I can cast out of Google chrome web browser OK. Must be a Win 10 problem. Will explore that avenue further

Yes, laptop on wifi - the 2.4ghz band. Software = whatever it is that teh Google Chromecast uses - none really it seems to settup throughthe Google Cast android ap. I just have windows defender on Win 10 Anniversary Edition. Not sure about the subnet (not sure how to check that bu tI think its all 2...

Now to my next set up problem.
My phone can connect to and cast to Chromecast.
But I cant get my Windows 10 laptop to caste to the Chromecast on the network set up on Gargoyle.
Gargoyle has
- Current DHCP lease
- Connected wireless host
- Host with active connection

Thanks Lantis. Manual entry may work - but I have 20 devices i want to attach. However seems I've fixed the problem. I did have my internet cable cascading off another router and it was plugged into a lan port on the back of the Archer. As I recall it didn't like being plugged into the blue internet...

That nearly did it but not quite. I had a ethernet cable between laptop and router and did the upgrade. With cable connected i could see my laptop in the DHCP drop down list so it all looked good at that point. Then I powered off the router, disconnected the ethernet cable, connected my internet Eth...
