Re: Solved: Archer C7 Wifi button

Ok, understand now. The argument with breakage of other devices was also brought up on openwrt, hence only a patch exists there. So this workaround applies to Archer C7 V2, Archer C5 V1.2 but not to all other TP-link devices. Thanks a million again for your patience and support. The switch is workin...

Re: Solved: Archer C7 Wifi button

Lantis wrote:they just need to fix the gpio and setup the button handlers.
You did not describe how you fixed the gpio, i.e. transferring rfkill from gpio-13 to gpio-23.
I would not be able to do this even though I did read the corresponding openwrt wiki...

Re: Archer C7 Wifi button

Perfect. Everything works as it should, including the corresponding LEDs turning on/off as required.

Thank you very much.

Re: Archer C7 Wifi button

Hello Lantis, I have tried both images, with and without preservation of settings. In none of the cases did the switch turn on/off the Wifi nor its corresponding LEDs. Only the last line in cat /sys/kernel/debug/gpio GPIOs 0-23, ath79: gpio-12 (tp-link:blue:wlan2g ) out lo gpio-14 (tp-link:blue:syst...

Re: Archer C7 Wifi button

Hello Lantis, as mentioned earlier I have an Archer C5 (V 1.2) flashed with a C7 image. The sysupgrade does not work out of the box due to wrong HW ID. Couple of questions before I can proceed: 1) which image (factory or sysupgrade) should I use 2) can I use sysupgrade -vF to make it happen? 3) are ...

Re: Archer C7 Wifi button

Meanwhile I found another thread on this topic on the openwrt forum (https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=66174).

It confirms in principle my reluctance to do a build myself. Apparently, things can go wrong fairly easily.

Lantis, your guidance is appreciated!

Re: Archer C7 Wifi button

Logread is a base function. Just type "logread" like I've said every other time. No extra switches, greps or other malarkey. Thank you for clarification. "grep" facilitates the identfication from long outputs. However, I used "logread" both with and without it and comp...

Re: Archer C7 Wifi button

Further on gargoyle plugins, please only install them using the GUI. Using the command line incorrectly (as you did) will make it much harder to remove and modify later. If you are interested in installing them correctly using the command line, the correct script is at /usr/lib/gargoyle/install_gar...
