using a gargoyle repeater with a captive portal?

I tried to search for info but didn't find anything. situation: at work, they have a public wifi that when you connect and try to surf it takes you to a confirmation page to accept some access regs. you submit it and (in a browser at least) it will install a certificate, then you have access to the ...

any chance of wrt55ag v1 working with gargoyle

the wrt55ag v1 has a broadcom (bcm4702kpb) cpu, 4mb flash, 32mb ram. it has two minipci cards inside. G radio is a broadcom (bcm4306kfb). A radio is an atheros (ar5211a). I know dd-wrt can be installed (the A radio is disabled). can gargoyle work? id like to replace the A card with another broadcom ...

Can I use a usb wireless adapter on x86?

I have a couple of thin clients the run an amd 300mhz cpu. The only way I could add wireless to them would be usb. Does Gargoyle on x86 have usb adapter support? (Zydas 1211b, realtek, etc) Im not really thinking of using them as repeaters (though that would be cool if you could do a dual radio repe...

1.3.5 atheros reset

Is the reset/default feature only for the MR3201A?

I assumed it would work on a regular fon2201 (since they are basically the same thing except for less ram), but I couldn't get it to reset/default.

If its only for the MR3201A, can support for the fon2100, fon2200, fon2201 be added?

Thanks

Re: Siemens gigaset WLAN repeater 108 close to Fonera 2100

well I'm sure it can use it its the same board as the 2100 fonera

Seems like too big of a hassle.

Good thing I only paid $10 each for them.. maybe they will work ok with the stock firmware?

Re: Siemens gigaset WLAN repeater 108 close to Fonera 2100

Minimum flash size for Gargoyle and DD-WRT is 4MB flash Reason being is the drivers are too large, the firmware is just too big to fit on 2MB flash chips. Hardware modding (replacing flash chips) is always a possibility, but really, what's the point since all these newer routers are coming down in ...

Siemens gigaset WLAN repeater 108 close to Fonera 2100

got my hands on 2 of these. I don't think they were supposed to be sold in the US, I can't find FCC id's on them and it had an EU power adapter (plus a USB cable power adapter). They appear to be the same PCB as the fonera 2100. It has a non removable antenna on ANT2 and ANT1 has a pcb 'butterfly' a...
