Thank you, Lantis, for your suggestions. However, I just tried each alternate name you recommended, but no love for either. Before returning the TL-WR1043ND V3, are there any other suggestions I might try not necessarily requiring a high-wire act of technical prowess to perform? Thanks!

I just bought a TL-WR1043ND v3 from Amazon and I can confirm the 18005 error when trying to flash the oviano firmware even after renaming it to wr1043ndv3_us_3_16_9_up_boot(151021). ("Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name"...
