As far as I can tell: It works till now without problems on my TP-Link 4300.

Upgraded from 1.6.2 to 1.8 on WDR4300 1.7. No Problems so far.
Edit:
After installing Tor and Abblock several issues:
- Uninstalling Tor and Adblock not possible
- Adding plugin source not possible
- Reset do default Configuration not possible
To Reset I had to install 1.8 again.
