high RTT when 2 people gaming
Why does the RTT increase significantly when 2 people are gaming? Pings are fine, but there is still lag there, like alot. I figured out its the RTT because there is a RTT indicator in overwatch. Its double the ping. Same behaviour in all games. This is when using the rules for games like with the p...

Re: Disappointing bufferbloat
I know this is an old thread. I do want to add that I achieved an A+ overall @dslreports.com using gargoyle version 1.8-1. Using the logic of creating 2 separate classes fast and normal as written by another poster.. no rules in place except Maximum Packet Length: 256 bytes for up and down instead ...

Re: Need help setting up QoS for the first time.
your pings stay slow and download speeds split evenly between devices In my case I have over 8 devices actively using Internet in my house. And high speed internet in my country (Uzbekistan) is something above and beyond of imagination. I have 1024 kb/s download and 1024 kb/s upload limit :( For no...

Re: QoS ACC ping target
Its worth trying all and then comparing the performance imo. Start with the hop closest to you and all the way up to the destination itself.

Re: Help qos Xbox
Why not suggest the maximum packet length 512 byte rule setup to the OP ?

Re: which router?
Have you tried looking for second hand routers as well? EBay and gum tree should have plenty.

Re: Is QoS not meant to work perfectly?
I have actually found some wireless ISPs that offer reliability through their services (and low ping). So thats good news maybe i might give it a try. But i was also wondering, at how much speed or at what point using gargoyle's QoS can i play games without others streaming/downloading have affect o...

Re: Is QoS not meant to work perfectly?
I'm also going to blame your Internet bandwidth. Streaming at high, Gargoyle on my connection shows usage of 1600 to 2400kbps, despite the video stats showing a constant 1400-1500kbps. It's very dynamic with lots of spikes, I think depending on the amount of action in the video. At source it was ar...

You can see here, despite twitch having a 1800kbps min BW requirement it doesn't seem to work well. Ive also tried giving twitch 90 percent BW but it seems like something is just overriding these settings. The IP bandwidth sharing, im thinking.

Re: Is QoS not meant to work perfectly?
I was thinking, would something more powerful like an archer C7 help in my case? Though my current router don't seem to be hitting max load when the line is in use. If thats the case i wouldn't see an improvement? I think its a bit of a cat and mouse game. Internet gets faster then you need a faste...
