Can I upgrade the firmware using mtd and get all the settings back to default? Also the rest button does not work, right?

I manage to install the 1.2.4 firmware on a wrt54gl. After changing a few settings related to web access I cant seem to login via http or https. I can login via ssh. I did try flushing iptables and also editing the firewall config to get access but yet no luck. Is there anyway i can reset the settin...
