Re: Advice Requested

Oh ok, that makes sense. But I do have another question then: http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Hardware/Asus/WL500GP Important notice: there is a long standing bug that makes it impossible to do port forwarding (NAT) with this router on 2.4 kernel, see https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/2558. Otherwi...

Re: Advice Requested

@fric: why would you chose V2 of that router ? Isn't V2 the version that has onboard broadcom wlan that doesn't work with kernel 2.6 and thus recent kamikaze/gargoyle releases ? For kyles this shouldn't matter of course since he stated he doesn't need the wlan functionality but V1 has a mini-pci wla...

Re: dyndns problems

Argh, this is probably not the result we wanted to see: root@router:~# ifdown wan && sleep 3 && ifup wan root@router:~# ls /tmp/ TZ ddns-hotplug-test fstab last_ddns_updates log resolv.conf.auto spool data dhcp.leases hotplug-status lock resolv.conf run state root@router:~# cat /tmp/...

Re: Advice Requested

As a user of the WRT54GL I have to point out that I have had one or two router crashes that I suspect come from low memory (I use ddns, qos) because they happened in situations where alot of connections where open (bittorent downloads, other programs opening alot of connections). Question also to er...

Re: dyndns problems

Hm, you were right with assumption (2) (of course *g*): #!/bin/sh config_load "network" config_get wan_proto "wan" "proto" if [ "$INTERFACE" = "wan" ] && [ "$ACTION" = "ifup" ] then date > /tmp/ddns-hotplug-test /usr/bin/d...

Re: dyndns problems

Hm, this is still not working for me :( http://pastebin.com/m4d1338c9 This is my log from this morning so my connection was clearly restarted. But still, my dyndns account isn't updated (it worked last time I tested manually, so I really have no clue why it now again failed). The last successful upd...

Re: dyndns problems

Ok, I changed all that and restarted my wan interface and it updated my ip. Although I only know that because dyndns.com told me when the last update happened :) There wasn't a console message or a log entry that logread would show me at least. I will monitor this now and check dyndns daily to see i...

Re: dyndns problems

I am using dyndns as well and I am pretty sure username etc. is correct because it does work most of the time and restarting the ddns service manually always lead to a correct update. So for some odd reason it seems the script wasn't getting called. I come to that conclusion because my "fix&quo...

Re: Remote SSH port not forwarded

Ah, thanks - it worked :) I had a hunch that keeping the old configuration could be the cause because of the many ongoing changes but I figured I might ask for help here anyway before starting of with a completely new config. For the dyndns problem, I will post in that thread to keep things clean an...

Re: Remote SSH port not forwarded

No need to be sorry :) This time the access.js file worked to the extend that he actually saved something. But still, I don't believe he did anything to the iptables rules. Wonder if this problem somehow relates to my dyndns problem ... :?: Infos send via PM. Strange thing is, I am pretty sure remot...
