Re: Problem with download qos
As far as I can tell, download QoS is completely ignored when Upload QoS is enabled. I have a rule to cap max download speed @100 kbit/s for one of local ip addresses. This works properly when Upload QoS is disabled, but downloads go full speed when Upload QoS is on. I see this on my Netgear WNDR370...

Problem with download qos
Not sure if this is specific to my environment, but I noticed that download qos does not work when upload qos management is also enabled on Gargoyle 1.3.x. I won't pretend I know much about iptables, but I think the problem has to do with CONNMARK --restore-mark/--restore-mark --mask rules set by qo...

Re: Bandwidth limited
Looks like it's bandwidth rules. Using master/backfire brcm-2.4 build on my linksys wrt54g v2.0, I see ~23 Mbits/sec with QoS off and bandwidth rules removed.
I also tried stock backfire. With default config it managed ~25 Mbits/sec with brcm-2.4 build but only ~20 Mbits/sec with brcm47xx.

Re: Bandwidth limited
I almost never take what others say for granted, especially when it comes to performance ;-) so I ran some tests on a couple of routers I have... First, I took my WRT54G v2.0 and compared how Gargoyle 1.2.3 performs vs. Tomato 1.27. To measure throughput I used iperf between two Ubuntu 9.10 boxes. F...
