Re: Setting up as a wired Repeater
Thanks Lantis,
Weren't there reports of the wireless becoming unstable on 1.9 again? That's the main reason I switched to Gargoyle from stock...My days of having the reset the router were over!!

Re: Setting up as a wired Repeater
Ok...when I can login, I will get some screenshots. I did attempt a 30/30/30 reset the night I was setting it up, but it never changed. It is definitely conflicting. Tonight, I attempted to setup the ASUS with my WHS 2011 box, and in the setup there was a message that I may have more than one router...

Re: Setting up as a wired Repeater
Hmmm...that's what I would've thought. But, last night while setting everything up, I disconnected from the WAN port, and the Gateway/Router, logged in to the Gargoyle page via one of the LAN ports, and I was connected to the internet. This is while in AP mode.

Re: Setting up as a wired Repeater
So, Device Configuration: Gateway? Internet/WAN Disabled...Got it Wireless: Wireless mode...Access Point? AP+WDS AD-HOC? All of these options still seem to connect wirelessly to the ASUS Router itself. I think this is where my conflict is ocurring

Re: Setting up as a wired Repeater
I am in a similar situation...Recently, my provider has bumped our speeds to 100 down, and my 1043ND is not keeping up. (it was my main router for years and gargoyle breathed new life in to it) I have swapped out the 1043 with a Belkin 750 (with custom Asus Firmware) that seems to handle the augment...

Re: TPLink 1043ND slow DL Speeds
Thanks for all the help. I get it now...you're paying for the better CPU on today's routers.
Again, what is the best speed I can expect from this unit?

Re: TPLink 1043ND slow DL Speeds
So basically it is the limitation of the router itself? It is a gigabit router, does that not translate to the higher speeds? What would be best that I can expect from this router? That would mean that I will not get better speeds if I add the Belkin/ASUS in it's place? An Archer or an AC router is ...

TPLink 1043ND slow DL Speeds
Hello Everyone, I have been running 1.6.2 for a few years on my TPLINK 1043ND gigabit router, and it has been incredibly stable. Previously, my wireless (stock firmware) would have to be reset every day, as it would lose connection. Gargoyle has been a Godsend. In that time my ISP (Time Warner) has ...

Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
Just registered to say thanks, and to relate the successful flash of my TP-Link TL-WR1043-ND V 1.0. I am no stranger to 3rd party Custom router firmware, (DD-WRT on a Linksys wrt54g, and Padavan's firmware upgrade for the Belkin 750...) but have held off for a couple years on flashing the Tp-Link......
