Re: Best hardware for gargoyle?
Even huge commercial routers may not be able to handle 100 users. I had a little experience with apartment complexes with 100 or so users, and after a lot of trial and error, I found ALIX boards (besides a full x86 PC) with pfSense could handle the load. I also had Gargoyle running on ALIX for a whi...

Re: Gargoyle on a x86 platform
You have to compile.
I could compile a binary for you for testing, but you should get your own compile environment, unless I can find some place to host my binaries... PM me.

Re: Some sites inaccessible
I ran into the same problem earlier (Eric was probably referring to me), and one of my problem sites is www.lme.com For me, the problem also happens when an exception is enabled. i.e., I have all *.zip blocked in the restrictions, but I want my user to be able to download antivirus updates in the fo...

Re: FonFlash OS X Leopard
For future reference, I tested the Fon binary in Snow Leopard (10.6) and it runs. But I don't have a Fon device to actually do the flashing.

Re: Which router is the best for gargoyle?
It depens on what you intend to do. I have trouble with using the WRT54GL under high load conditions (e.g. 10+ users all using torrent) and with QoS enabled. The router either crashes or starts killing processes randomly after a day or so.
I don't seem to have any troubles with the ASUS WL500GP V2.

Re: Which trx file for WRT54GL?
You also need to use the .bin one if you're flashing using tftp. Which could happen if you mess up bad enough that you can't login to the web interface any more.

Re: Listing remote admins in connected hosts
Hi I been using Gargoyle for 2 months and it has been great. I too would like to know how do I setup remote Access. I am trouble setting it up at the moment. My router is behind a WAG160n (modem + router), I only use it as modem. I didn't enable to remote access on this. How do I setup the remote a...
