Finally up and running. Thanks to croc's post. I upgraded through OpenWRT with sysupgrade file and Bingo! Waited an hour because it looked like it was still installing but pointed browser at it and there it was.

The router never showed up in Sharkwire but whenever I turned it off it sent an ARP message. That gave me some hope. I knew it was alive. I ended up flashing it through Windows Vista with TFTP from DD-WRT. I flashed it with their (DD-WRT) factory firmware for my router. It came back to life. This wa...

The router is version 1. I did a factory reset and rebooted the router. I used the router's upgrade utility to send "gargoyle_1.6.2-ar71xx-generic-wrt160nl-squashfs-factory.bin". The utility reported that the upgrade had failed. I rebooted the router and it was bricked. The power light fla...
