Re: Successfully flashed a router? Tell Us!
Got a second TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND router to bridge with another of the same model also running Gargoyle. This second one has hardware version of 1.11. Was able to successfully flash it using the file gargoyle_1.5.11-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr1043nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin . In order to flash from the TP Li...

Re: MAC Address Clone
Hi, fist of all. Thank you very much for Gargoyle for wr1043nd. It's works perfect in Client Mode. Can you please add MAC Address Clone for WAN,LAN and WLAN. Thank you. I concur. On Gargoyle 1.5.10, a custom MAC address can be easily specified for the WAN interface. I'd like to have the option of s...

Re: WAN not working on TP-Link TL-WR1043ND
Before flashing older versions of stock firmware, try this: In Gargoyle, go to menu item Status -> Overview and note if the items LAN MAC Address and WAN MAC Address are the same address. If they are, change your WAN MAC address to be one more than your LAN MAC address by going to menu item Connecti...

Re: TPLINK WR741ND V2 - bricked
Take a look at the OpenWRT wiki entry "OpenWrt Failsafe". If you can successfully telnet into the router in failsafe mode, you may be able to flash the correct firmware using the mtd command. See OpenWRT wiki entry "TP-Link TL-WR741ND: Upgrading OpenWRT" for more info.

Re: TL-WR1043ND Ver:1.10 bricked
I will try it tonight. Cool. I'd like to know the outcome when you're done. Also, be aware that on the V1.10 hardware, once you flash the new firmware the WiFi will be turned off by default so make sure you do it via a wired connection. Also, it is likely your WAN, LAN, and Wireless MAC addresses w...

Re: TL-WR1043ND Ver:1.10 bricked
Do you think that I could flash directly via the console web interface the latest version 1.5.10 without brinkling my unit? cryp7 noted that it was likely the older version of OpenWRT/Gargoyle that bricked my router the first try, and I think I agree. I believe, but cannot guarantee, that version 1...

TL-WR1043ND Ver:1.10 successfully unbricked
I've successfully flashed the file "gargoyle_1.5.10-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr1043nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin" (as suggested by cryp7, thanks!) using a serial console to issue commands to U-Boot and an TFTP daemon (tftpd-hpa in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) to upload the Gargoyle firmware as outlined on the ...

Re: TL-WR1043ND Ver:1.10 bricked
Good to know. I was not aware of which versions of OpenWRT different versions of Gargoyle are based on. I'll make sure to get the version of 1.5.7 or later of Gargoyle for this router. Thanks for the info.

TL-WR1043ND Ver:1.10 bricked
Hello, Just FYI, a factory new TP-Link TL-WR1043ND Ver:1.10 flashed with firmware "gargoyle_1.4.7-ar71xx-tl-wr1043nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin" via the firware upgrade menu item resulted in a bricked router. All is not lost, however, U-Boot appears to still be functional: U-Boot 1.1.4 (Mar 3...
