Re: Back Online
My plan is to focus mostly on fixing bugs over the course of the next few weeks. Thinks for keeping us informed. Hope you are enjoying your new home. I find your decision to focus on fixing bugs very welcome. However I'm a little concerned about the word "mostly". I'm astonished at how mu...

Re: Dynamic DNS Improvements
I've tried all the suggestions given by OpenDNS, i.e. restart the PC and router etc. I don't think the problem lies with data in caches being used.

Re: Dynamic DNS Improvements
Eric: Further to my comments above, I think there may be a problem with the "Force Clients to Use Router DNS Services" feature. If I use the "Allow Clients to Use alternate DNS Services" setting and set my PC to use OpenDNS Server addresses, then domain blocking works as expected...

Re: Dynamic DNS Improvements
Thanks for your reply BikeMike. I'm somewhat pessimistic when it comes to believing I'm going to be successful in implementing this sort of thing without help. I finally got around to testing the new features and found my pessimism was not unwarranted...again. :( I did the following: Connections/Bas...

Re: Gargoyle income generation
Uh, no. The problem is that Gargoyle is something people just download and use. Once it is working they don't come back to the site unless something is broken and they want to complain on the forum. Eric: You are referring to the relatively small number of people (compared to the vast number of use...

Re: Dynamic DNS Improvements
BikeMike: Thanks for your advice. I hope to try this version/feature in the next few days. Out of interest, have you tried accessing the Gargoyle interface from "the cloud"?

Re: Suggested Feature: Blocked Pages Notification
Thanks so much for explaining the difficulties associated with my suggestion. I've weighed up the strengths and weaknesses of the various approaches out there and I've decided to work with Gargoyle just the way it is at the moment (minus the gargoyle symbol ;) ). My main reason is that neither the D...

Suggested Feature: Blocked Pages Notification
I notice that when you try to access a restricted URL you are simply presented with a blank page. It would be useful to let the user know why they are not gaining access. Following are two examples of how this is currently accomplished in other systems: 1. In the OpenDNS system they present you with...

Re: Access Restrictions
 Thanks for your patience. I'm blown away by this feature. It is amazing. However I notice that when you try to access a restricted URL you are simply presented with a blank page. In the OpenDNS system they present you with a brief explanation and some paid adverts (that's how they generate in...
