Re: Happy Holidays & Version 1.1.5
Hi cwcchap, Can you elaborate on what you mean by "parental controls" as this is precisely what I use Gargoyle fore (daily download limits and enforced cutoff times at night). Hi Eric, Happy holidays to you also, we all need a break some time. Certainly no need to apologize for that! :D I ...

Re: Feature Request: User Groups (sort of)
Hi, Do you actually want quotas and visibility of usage for each individual IP, or only require it for each group? eg. do you want to give a single quota to "son1" devices and he can use it as he pleases, for laptop, ps3 or girlfriend? Or do you really need to know exactly what device is u...

Re: IP Range Not Showing Downloads
I notice you are using 1.1.4. In fact I couldn't get quotas to work at all in that version, I've gone back to the latest "stable" version 1.0.15. It does not allow ranges for quotas at all, so that must be a new feature. http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=458 In 1...

Re: IP Range Not Showing Downloads
I think if you want to use a range it must be entered in CIDR notation.
For example, an address range of 192.168.1.112/28 gives an address range of 16 addresses, 192.168.1.112 to 192.168.1.127

Re: Internet and Telephone modem
This is probably not the place to ask such questions... but anyway. It depends on where you are and your local regulations. You need another phone outlet in the other room, these are normally just daisy-chain or star-wired in parallel. In Australia you can't do this yourself, it requires a registere...

Re: Version 1.1.4
I couldn't get quotas to work in 1.1.4. First restored my backup from 1.0.15. Didn't work and could not edit them or add new ones. So I deleted them all and added again, this seemed to go ok. However no usage accumulates against them as shown on status page. Maybe restoring the backup has created so...

Feature request: Show hostnames wherever IPs are shown
Hi,
I have fixed IPs set up in DHCP with meaningful hostnames for each. It would be great if these hostnames were shown next to (or instead of) the IP addresses on various screens, eg. bandwidth usage, quota usage, web usage etc.

System > Identification... what's it for?
Hi, I see that the hostname appears in the top left below the logo... but other than that is is any use? And what about domain? I had thought perhaps if I put say "home" in hostname and "lan" in domain, then I could browse to "home.lan" and gargoyle would intercept it a...

Re: Keeping the configuration after an upgrade ?
I have this issue too as my network is 192.168.10.xxx The solution I have found is to have a command window open on my PC while doing upgrades, and use the following commands... ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew This will temporarily give you access on the default network (192.168.1.xxx) after loadi...
