You should be able to use the sysupgrade file 1.5.6 with no problems. I have that version on my wr1043nd v1.8.

The differences between them are:
TL-WR1043N Router with three fixed antennas.
TL-WR1043ND Router with three detachable antennas.

Try changing the name of the file to something simple like gargoyle.bin.
I had to do that to get my tl-wdr3600 to accept the gargoyle file by the OEM software.

Sorry, but no. I had not even heard of that dongle until now. If you start a new thread with the name of the dongle in the name of the thread, then maybe someone who knows about it can answer your question. Hope that this helps you find the answers you need.
