Re: wireless problem 1.5.7 on WRT54GS
I've used what's recommended on this link from openwrt
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.flashing.tftp
I'm using a Mac OS X TFTP Client to load the image.
Did you follow the directions to downgrade properly?
Pls. list your steps and so we can help you out.

Re: wireless problem 1.5.7 on WRT54GS
Hi gwhm!
We're trying 1.3.9 WRT54G and so far so good.
We'll update later on if any hiccups.
If not we'll downgrade to 1.2.5 and go up.

Re: wireless problem 1.5.7 on WRT54GS
We had the same issue.
DoesItMatter suggest the following.
Try Gargoyle 1.2.5
Then try 1.3.9
1.3.0 - 1.3.9 are using the Broadcom 2.4 drivers.
1.3.10 and up use the Broadcom 2.6 drivers

Thanks DoesItMatter!
Also we tried the TP-Link WR1043ND with v. 1.5.8 works well we even put a 128MB of USB ThumbDrive for Linux Swap
So, far it's working well.
We'll report back once we've tested it for 1 week.

Re: 1.4.6 Connection timeout occurred WRT54G v.3.0
ok what we've found out for the past 3 weeks now that 1.4.6 is more stable than 1.5.7 & 1.4.7.. but we're getting a connection timeout so based on the other post in this forum that it stems to the upgraded driver for the broadcom chipset. We did try the fix below but didn't work on us. iw dev wl...

Re: Possible fix for b43 related stability issues
ok we tried the fix and it didn't work.
cannot connect to the internet and wifi for some reason.
we don't know how to revert the changes so we'll re-image to 1.4.6 or 1.3.6 to see if that works for us.

Re: Possible fix for b43 related stability issues
Ok I will try this on the WRT54G v3.0 and see if this works.
We've set set the DHCP Lease Time to 8,760 hours as we thought this will fix it.
iw dev wlan0 set bitrates legacy-2.4 6 9 12 18 24 36 48 54
first if this doesn't work we will try
iw dev wlan0 set bitrates legacy-2.4 1 2 5.5 11
