Re: usage quota on laptop (wired+wireless combined)
Could you set his MAC addresses to within a certain IP range and then set up a quote based on that range? You might also want to configure the router so any other unknown MAC addresses can't be added, meaning you'll have to add everyone's MAC address to the whitelist (not so hard) You could then pos...

Re: Customize text of Quota Exceeded page
Check out this thread for a start. Had someone asking a similar question. http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2501 But from my point of view you *should* be able to do the following: Make a copy of the default page and call it "adminlogin" or something. (Maybe als...

Re: Basic questions
If the power goes off, it still remembers. Should be fine for a month by month basis. If you want to keep the logs for a history record (say for a few years), you may either need to ensure you have a router with USB or setup some sort of FTP script that sends the log file somewhere. I'm using Gargoy...

Re: Browser setting for gargoyle UI?
Could be Javascript is disabled?

Can anyone get a Gargoyle VM working?
Hi, been trying to get a Gargoyle VM working, but for the life of me I can't do it. Does anyone have a working VM of Gargoyle? Virtual Box or VMWare, don't care. Can't seem to get the NIC's to be detected. From a fully working OpenWRT VM, I update the firmware to Gargoyle Alix/x86 img (1.4.7 or 1.5....

Re: Automatic Quota Group Management
That's the plan ;) Haven't touched this over the last 2 weeks due to work and life in general but keen to get back into it this week. I got NoCat working on my VM OpenWRT which helps cause the fundamentals of how that works is similar (in part) to my master plan. (also ebay bidding on a router I can...

Re: blocklist capability???
Search the OPENWRT packages and see if any do what you want. You might have to play around with some stuff to see if it works with Gargoyle though.

Re: Custom redirect page when quota exceeded
Not sure. You might have to go exploring through the scripts in a built image or maybe have a look through the source code. I'll post it here if I find it but I wouldn't be waiting on that, I have to figure out a lot before I get to that stage where I actually know what I'm doing. Still learning lin...
