Re: New version US TP-Link Archer C7 V2 SUCCESS
Woo Hoo! :D I skipped trying to login to OpenWrt and put 1.9.1 download (gargoyle_1.9.1-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v2-squashfs-factory.bin) in my TFTP directory and renamed it to ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin. Upon bootup, the TFTP download occurred (I was worried that it might not since I had installed ...

Re: New version US TP-Link Archer C7 V2 SUCCESS
Thanks tapper,
I've only gotten to the point where I have "flashed the above OpenWRT build first", so I've not installed Gargoyle yet.

Re: New version US TP-Link Archer C7 V2 SUCCESS
Thanks Codertimt! For anyone else following these steps, make sure you rename the file as codertimt says: Rename OpenWRT build to ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin. The OpenWrt wiki is ambiguous and I set to *v3* based on my reading of the wiki. I found out it was looking for *v2* filename by running WireS...

Re: add OpenDNS family filter to the default DNS servers
I _really_ wished this worked, but as far as I can tell, with Firefox and Chrome shipping with the following type of defaults; e.g. Chrome - Settings : Advanced... Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar...

Re: Positive user experience with Gargoyle
Here's some background for where I'm going in the conversation now. daleq said Enhancement requests - Limit upload bandwidth in same manner as download with ACC. pbix said Since we have direct control of the upload bandwidth I do not feel using an indirect control like ACC would have much benefit. d...

Re: Positive user experience with Gargoyle
My testing shows that ACC should react much faster than 4 minutes. I would think 30 seconds would be plenty of time. You watch the ping times come into line in realtime on the ACC status section. Do you really see it take 4 minutes for the ping times to get controlled under the ping limit? I guesti...

Re: Positive user experience with Gargoyle
Thanks for your reply. I'll try my best to answer. ...but remember that when ACC is used it continuously adjusts the download limit based on the ping response. As a result you can actually enter a number which is a bit higher than you measure and let the ACC seek the correct number. There is not nee...

Positive user experience with Gargoyle
Summary Using Gargoyle's QoS and Active Congestion Control, one can go from 18% packet loss to less than 3% on VoIP calls, even on saturated satellite ISP connections. Overview I first heard of Gargoyle via a LWN.net article and was immediately intrigued by the Active Congestion Controller. I volun...

Integrate Gargoyle with squid proxy on separate computer?
Hi, First, I have to say I'm _very_ impressed with Gargoyle. Being able to easily set DNS server(s) and force their usage is top notch! Also, I'm looking forward to experimenting with ACC and QoS settings. THANK YOU! Eric, Paul, Artur, Cezary, Piotr, Tony, Igor, Carol, Shane, Benjamin, ... I'm consi...
