I actually didn't change the default IP (192.168.1.1) when I switched it to wireless bridge/repeater and that IP doesnt work anymore when i try.

Does the IP default to anything after switching to wireless bridge/repeater?

I'm running Gargoyle 1.5.5 on a WNDR3700.

I'd like to be able to remote ssh access this router from my mac (OS X) when I'm traveling. However, I'm very unfamiliar with ssh on how it works, if I need a client (and which one) and how to set it up.

Could someone please explain this to me?

Ok, I gave up on the WRT54GS, however I was lucky enough to find a used Dlink DIR-825 and got it for relatively cheap. This was much easier to install gargoyle on and runs much faster/smoother vs. wrt54gs. Also it's similar to my Netgear WNDR3700 so a good spare router to practice setting up gargoyl...
