I just learned something last night that affects this issue. I tried another WNDR3700 with the same firmware and it does exactly the same thing. So it must be the issue with OpenWRT that's a bug.

I made the changes here:

And it still won't pick up a WAN ip. Could the port itself have issues? How could I tell?

I'm also having the time issue as described above. WNDR3700V1. And I've noticed my speedtest with this release and the last release went down from around 30 Mbps to 15 while using wireless. Wired is fine.

I also tried the new Dec 22 build, and still the same error.
