@DoesItMatter: I messed around a lot more with it this afternoon. I am able to access the modem using a LAN cable connected directly to my laptop. The modem LAN IP is 192.168.0.1. I have tried various ports, including 81, with no luck.

Thanks for replying! Nothing different with your suggestion. I also updated to 1.4.1. Any other troubleshooting ideas?
