Re: Linksys EA8500
Thanks Lantis for the response.
And yes I know it won't magically increase the speed but sometimes you have to let someone do this so they find out first hand.

Linksys EA8500
Hi from Australia, I have been running Gargoyle on Netgear routers for a few years now and am very happy with it. These are in a Ski Club and remote access is important. One of the club members is pestering and offering a Linksys EA8500 as he thinks this will increase the browsing speed (there is on...

Re: Information request
Thanks for your reply Lantis, I'll talk to me friend over Winter. A couple of points though. The 3700V4 are on clearance for AUD$60. The router is to be situated 4 hours from his home. Do we really want a Linksys or C7 there unattended, they can get a bit hot can't they. And being in Australia at a ...

Information request
Hi form Australia, Not sure where to post this so trying in this forum. I have had a request to help a friend with a Gargoyle implementation. I have had success with WNDR3800's and I think my friend only needs "N" WiFi (to be confirmed). I have just come across a WNDR3700V4 which I didn't ...

Re: Restarting quota for device that hits cap
Yes, changing the quota for one IP just a little, resets the quota for that IP address.

Re: Restarting quota for device that hits cap
I have done this a few times by changing the quota for that one IP address. My routers are 3 and 5 hours away.
Looking at quota usage tells you which is at 100%. Then I set a new quota just for that one IP.
A bit of a roundabout way but it gets it done.

Re: Archer C5 / C7
Thank you to all here.
I loaded 1.9.X from lede link and it just worked.
So relieved after reading all the issues. Like Peter in another thread, I got lucky with older gear and without the restrictions.
Thanks again
