Different Quotas AM and PM

Good morning from Australia, I've had Gargoyle (1.4.3) running on a WNDR3700 V1 for 6 months now. Very very happy with it. A huge thanks to everyone. A friend has now decided they "need" a similar setup to control their (read kids) internet use. The obvious answer is Gargoyle. But they hav...

Re: Changes re DynDNS in 1.4.3?

Thank you, that is a good work around.

I will investigate a static IP, but the router is for a Not-For-Profit Club and static IP's cost money here in Australia.

It's also going to a region where only Telstra provide ADSL so it's DynDNS or pay each month for a static IP.

Changes re DynDNS in 1.4.3?

I have had 1.4.2 running on a WNDR3700V1 successfully. I have the issue reported elsewhere about DynDNS stopping updating after approx 6 days. I have to site this router a 5 hour drive away and am wondering if anyone knows whether any changes were made in 1.4.3 to solve this. I have just installed 1...

Re: Restrict Access to printer

OK, solved. Going right through the printer options, I found an option where you can set hosts "who are allowed to make TCP connections" to the printer, ie print or connect to the web interface. So setting the router address as allowed enables anyone who can SSH into the router to be able ...

Restrict Access to printer

Hi all, I'm using 1.4.1 on a WNDR3700. I currently have a printer on a static address - 192.168.1.2 I know this is a strange one, but am I able to restrict access to it for local hosts within Gargoyle or do I have to go to subnetting. As background, the printer (and Netgear) will be located 5 hours ...

Re: Advice Requested

Loading Gargoyle onto a 3700 is very easy.

Download the file and upload it to the router via the Netgear interface.

Re: Moving house - need configuration help

From what I understand Gargoyle needs to be the router to monitor bandwidth. It needs to route the LAN to WAN traffic and WAN to LAN traffic to be able to measure it and apply quotas. In bridge mode, it can't do this and your modem to the net is doing this job. It's ideal if the modem is set to brid...

Individual User Quotas

I've installed Gargoyle on a WNDR3700V1 and have been very happy with it. I'm on 1.4.1 Today I found the thread below, where it talks about Individual quotas not really being applied to each different IP address. Can someone explain the difference between the Quota options 1. All Individual Hosts Wi...
