Re: Quota usage

It it mostly persistent, the data is saved on a periodic basis. Not sure what the frequency was, but a reboot loses at most a couple hours of bandwidth data.

Re: remember config after upgrade

There is a backup/restore function that does just that. Before update you save a backup (which is just your settings), then after update is complete you restore from it. All settings remain as they were.

Re: Gargoyle behind other router and QOS

I'd just setup dmz to the gargoyle router and let it handle things from there.

Re: Version 1.5.0 & 1.4.3

Actually, it turns out that the wifi drops out after a few minutes no matter if I am using bittorrent or not. Must be the same bug that was in 1.4.2 and the 1043ND router. Not sure if this will help in narrowing down the dropout bug, but I have the same router except mine is version 1.8 and I never...

Re: Per IP monitoring

Yes you can do per ip monitoring. You can also specify one quota to apply to a range of or even list of ip addresses. I have several quotas assigned to single addresses and a couple ranges that have a shared quota as well in my setup here.

Re: To update or not?

I have same router running latest version with no issues, if the changes listed aren't something you want and/or need though, I would suggest sticking with what works for you.

Re: Version 1.4.2

Hadn't seen the issues others reported since I don't use QOS, but since this update mentioned my router specifically (WR1043ND) I had to install it. Upgrade went fine, settings restored from backup and everything seems to work great. All I'm using are quotas, wireless, and nearly obsessive compulsiv...

Re: Static IP setup, "Unknown" Hostname - Need help!

I had the same thing happen when setting up mine for the first time. Rebooting the client machine caused it to refresh, so did using ipconfig to release and renew it's ip. Rebooting the router itself may take care of all of them at once, though I didn't try this personally. It seems the clients stil...

Re: Caching proxy possible?

Ok that does have some impressive specs for a home router. :) The fact that it's just a bare circuit board is a bit off putting for me, making some sort of case would be a pain.

Re: Caching proxy possible?

Thank you for the nudge in the right direction. I will read up on squid and iptables and see what I can figure out with it. I only have the most basic of linux knowledge so this will likely take a while but until ATT drops their quotas or there's another option in my area I need to find some way to ...
