Re: Creating another AP via second router
Thanks Its some much easier to see your set-up now Unfortunately I don't have a Linksys WRT54GL to copy your set-up I have seen some complaints about older routers with small amounts of RAM and flash sizes with the new backfire/gargoyle firmware Have you tried 1.2.5? No, I haven't. I've previously ...

Re: Creating another AP via second router
It is very unlikely that it is a firmware problem. We can work trough the problem with you if you like but leaving it days between posts is a bit long. My apologies, i've spent hours on this and it's wearing me down :-). I've also tried using the router as a wireless repeater with limited success (...

Re: Creating another AP via second router
Yeah, that's what the DMZ is set to. That DNS entry was suggested earlier in the thread and made no difference, it didn't work before or after. I'll find time to install some other firmware and see if that works... I'm not sure if I should be blaming gargoyle, my settings or the router itself at thi...

Re: Creating another AP via second router
That's as I've configured it alreadyDoesItMatter wrote:On Router 2 - you need to manually add DNS servers
For DNS1 use 192.168.1.1 (main router)
DNS2 use 208.67.222.222 or 8.8.8.8 or whatever you want
Add multiple DNS - I usually have 3 or 4 configured.

Re: Creating another AP via second router
I've got DHCP on the second router too yeah, though its range is 201-240 while router1's DHCP range is 100-200 so they shouldn't conflict. There's no third router. yes but they are still on the same subnet? Not anymore. I got some free time to try it using the suggested settings, and while it seems...
