Re: Slow download speed on TP-Link TL-WR1043ND
If you're downloading stuff from a content distribution network then choosing a DNS that isn't geographically local can mean you are downloading from the "wrong" site for your location.

Re: CRASH when backing up router
Thanks for looking into this. Yes, the web usage monitor was active. My timezone is NZDT (edit: UTC+13) so it is the right amount of shift, not sure why it would need to do it again after startup though. The firewall config was 9 access restrictions and two exceptions (the exceptions weren't enabled...

Re: Version 1.4.2
I had a constant rebooting problem with 1.4.2 on a WR1043ND that I described in this post: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1868&p=8326#p8326 It was fixed by reflashing to 1.4.2 and restoring config but if there's anything else I could have done to document the proble...

Re: Version 1.4.2
Working great for me on 1043ND as an upgrade from v1.3.14. Settings are persistent after reboot, OpenDNS update works fine.

Re: Deleted from Wikipedia? WTF?
The main reason the article was deleted was because Gargoyle has not been reviewed in detail in many "reliable sources" (by Wikipedia's definition of a reliable source) yet. It would be best to try to get a decent review or two of Gargoyle in high-profile sources first, so the article will...

Re: Force DNS Exceptions
I did it this way: On the Connection> Basic page leave "Alternate DNS" as "Allow clients to use alternate DNS servers", and enter the OpenDNS servers as the Custom DNS servers. On the Firewall>Restrictions page add a new restriction for all hosts except the ones you want to allow...
