IPoE is otherwise known as DHCP, which is the default authentication mechanism ("DHCP (Wired)" in Gargoyle's WAN Connect Via list) on nearly all supprted devices.

3) ADVANCED tab / Activate packet steering?: Can I disable without concerns? I don't know why you'd want to disable packet steering if it is enabled by default: it's a performance optimisation only. I find it quite significant that the ramips/mt7621 target (which includes your AX23) is one of only ...

Re: Which router to use with Starlink
I'm struggling a bit to navigate the compatibility lists but for example would something like the TP-Link Archer AX55 work well with Gargoyle? I don't need anything super-fancy in terms of performance, even once we get Starlink (which will be a huge upgrade on external bandwidth, I'm currently livi...

Re: redirect outgoing port 123 to my own ntp LAN server
If the cameras are using pihole for DNS to whatever NTP server they want to use, couldn't pihole be used to redirect those requests to your internal NTP server rather than the firewall level redirection?

Re: Version 1.14.0: Based on OpenWrt 22.03
But am finding it rebooting quite a lot, ranges from 5 hours to 3 days. Am using 1.15.X (Built 20241113-1230 git@b0c923bf) on TP-Link Archer A6 v3. More info will be required to have any chance of figuring out what this is (and probably best reported in a separate thread rather than cluttering this...

Re: dir-505 downloads mising + overfull firmare
The 1.15 beta image should work, although you won't have much flash space to install any extra packages, or maybe enable the bandwidth monitor. As best I can tell there should be about 650-700kB of overlay space available in total, of which about 300kB should be free with a minimal (non-preserved) c...

None of the Annapurna Labs CPUs appear to be supported by OpenWrt in any target so it's not practically feasible.

Your earlier post showed it returning “eth0”. Config shows “eth0.2”. No idea why or how this can happen. Does this possibly arise on those swconfig devices which have to explicitly use VLAN IDs to set the WAN and LAN connectivity within the switch? I think I've seen the same symptom (no reported sp...

Re: Archer C7 v5 wan to lan slow performance
In addition to Lantis' suggestions, in some markets the Asus RT-AX59U can be found at attractive prices too - a little less straightforward to flash than the GL-MT6000 though (requires a 3rd party "transition" image be flashed first but this worked fine for me); recommend enabling packet s...

However, there were also published some links to related issue tickets: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/12143 https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/13122 https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/13262 Thanks for these links - it seems to not be a universal problem, but for those who ...
