Re: VLAN tagging on WAN port

Another approach, if a hardware solution is acceptable, is to use a small smart switch to provide a VLAN tagged interface to the ONT connecting to an untagged interface to the router WAN port. Netgear and TP-Link both sell 5 port smart switches that I think can do this.

Re: TL-WR902AC

If you're in a position to attempt to compile the image yourself (e.g. by using a Linux VM) I have a target config that covers the WR902AC v3 I can make available from which I have built images (I was playing with a gl-mt300n v2). I'm not in a position ATM to make a build publicly available though.

there's a new modem from my ISP purporting a 2.5 Gbps port. ... they will need an upgrade if I upgrade my modem.
You would only need an upgrade if
- the 2.5Gbps port didn't also support 1Gbps (most unlikely); or
- you needed >1Gbps throughput

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.12.0 for ipq806x architecture routers

Quick question: My C7 (ath79) ships with the QCA988X radio, and after this command: gpkg list-installed | grep ath10k ath10k-firmware-qca4019 - 2018-05-12-952afa49-1 ath10k-firmware-qca9887 - 2018-05-12-952afa49-1 ath10k-firmware-qca9888 - 2018-05-12-952afa49-1 ath10k-firmware-qca988x - 2018-05-12-...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.12.0 for ipq806x architecture routers

@defz: If you search the threads on the OpenWrt forums you should find some instructions for substituting the non-ct firmware for the ct firmware. My understanding from previous reading there is that the non-ct firmware should work with the ct driver so updating the firmware should at least give you...

I've also added a slightly simpler way of filtering packages from the image folder ;)

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.13.0.x for ipq40xx architecture routers

Gargoyle doesn't seem to support VLAN on WAN regardless of hardware, at least as far as I can see in the web interface. According to this OpenWrt thread the B1300 standard WAN interface is configured such that it can't be tagged the way you want, however it is possible to repurpose one of the LAN po...

Re: NBN Superfast on Gargoyle

we only got the D7800 in Australia which has a CPU half the speed :?: :o I wouldn't have said half as 1.4GHz is still most of the R7800's 1.7GHz and my own testing puts it at about that ratio (~80%). However OpenWrt cripples the D7800 by only configuring 256MB of RAM when it looks like most if not ...

Re: Adding OpenWrt packages into build

My guess... in build.sh most of the uses of "$default_profile" should actually be replaced by "$profile_name". I think there has been a mixup of the variable usage. In your case, i think swapping it on lines 705, 708, 720 and 723 will get you a lot closer. Can you let me know how you go please? Mak...
