Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.11.0 for ipq806x architecture routers
Glad to hear that you're now able to use nearly all your WAN bandwidth! It is interesting though - and a little disappointing - that the upload throughput didn't gain proportionally as much as the download throughput... BTW, is this with ACC enabled? Yes, but strange enough I've seen it happen on O...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.11.0 for ipq806x architecture routers
MUCH better results now! (R7800, 300/150 fiber) http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/51772637.png In order to achieve it, I added the following on /etc/rc.local echo 2 > /proc/irq/31/smp_affinity echo performance > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_governor echo performance > /sys/devic...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.11.0 for ipq806x architecture routers
Expanding on the potential for running out of CPU cycles, I came across some OpenWrt references to the default settings of the CPU frequency scaling governor affecting throughput by not upscaling quickly enough, notably on the R7800 - see discussions in OpenWrt forum threads here and also here . It...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.11.0 for ipq806x architecture routers
Just noticed something. I have a 300/150Mbit/s PPPoE Fiber connection, and it seems that Gargoyle is only reaching around 100Mbit/s upload, and 170Mbit/s download without QoS (with QoS download goes down to 100 and upload stays the same). B bufferbloat on DSLReports with QoS either on or off. I wond...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.11.0 for ipq806x architecture routers
I have uploaded an updated build archive and added some change information to the first post . Note that the updated archive has the same name as the original - sorry, expediency rules at the moment  The new build incorporates a patch to the IMQ module loading arrangements (discussed here ) w...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.11.0 for ipq806x architecture routers
No probs, thanks for taking the time to test and report results. Sorry that didn't you get some more success for the effort! :( Testing is fun too ;) I'm just curious whether you've run OpenWrt 18.06.0 or later on this router at all? Yes, I'm running KONG's OpenWRT 18.06 build with no issues In you...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.11.0 for ipq806x architecture routers
Hello, sorry for the delay ;) The build booted on my R7800 and I observed the following: - WAN connection under PPPoE appeared to be successful at the GUI, but I couldn't estabilish any connection - Wireless connections are working, 5ghz didn't work on channel 149 (World domain) - USB mounting was s...

Re: Experimental build of Gargoyle 1.11.0 for ipq806x architecture routers
Thank you, I really appreciate this. I'll test it on a R7800 unit in a couple hours.

Re: Bleeding Edge (mvebu + AR71xx) gargoyle-ispy 2018-June-29 22:45
I would love to see WR1043N V5 supported. Also, I have noticed a UPnP/NAT-PMP minor issue on this build on the WR1043ND V1. It works, but when the router is restarted, it stops working and you need to disable and re-enable the feature for it to work again. Is this using the build I posted or ispyis...
