Re: Do I need to retire my Archer c7 v2?
I haven't done anything with mine yet. Why "fix" it if it isn't broke, right? Though I suspect there are security bugs that were fixed. My ISP speed isn't anywhere near fast enough to concern myself with looking at a newer router.

Did you figure out your issue? I was going to upgrade from 1.10.x to 1.12.0 soon.

Re: Block HTTPS websites
I thought my blocking was working except his smartphone can still reach youtube with the app. When I go to Web Usage screen, I can see youtubei.googleapis.com and s.youtube.com from the phone, yet I have domain contains youtube as one of the "Block Only" entries???

Re: Block HTTPS websites
Downloaded 1.10.x from your site. I take it the Firewall Restrictions apparently didn't work correctly before this version?
I'd guess an "all hosts except" would be the best option for me so it would essentially whitelist any MACs where I don't want to restrict youtube to certain hours.

Re: Default QoS Rules Contest
I do have an additional QoS rule option for those that care about improving bufferbloat (lag that occurs when your bandwidth is saturated). When tested on DSLReports' speed test, this gets you an A/A+. It hasn't gotten me an A consistently (last test was a C), but using the current new defaults in ...

Re: Version error trying to load 1.9 on Archer C7 v2
Just wanted to say that as of Aug 2017, with a US-version of the Archer C7 v2.0, the "Holy Cow Testicles" 3-step method worked exactly as described on page 1 of this thread. I uploaded v. 1.9.2 in Step 3 and it worked fine. Just did the exact same thing 30 min ago. My C7 V2 has SN of 2158...
