Re: Version 1.9.2
Thanks d3fz. To enter failsafe, I tried pressing the reset/WDS button on power up of the router, and many variations on that procedure: holding it for 3-7 seconds, tapping it rapidly, waiting for router activity via Wireshark, you name it. None of them seem to get it into "failsafe." I've ...

Re: WDR4300 enters bootloop after heavy load
Sorry this reply is so late and I hope you've figured out your issue. I can't think of any crash logs or cpu load logs anywhere, but perhaps someone more familiar with ssh can help. Is there something else using up the CPU? A plugin perhaps? Overheating maybe? Just before I bricked my WDR4300, I had...

Re: Version 1.9.2
TFTP is usually initiated by the boot loader. If a router has this recovery method it is usually pretty hard to kill it unless you corrupt that as well. It is worth trying, otherwise you're on to more drastic solutions like throwing it out the window. As noted before, I cannot get my bricked router...

Re: Version 1.9.2
There is the TFTP recovery method you can still try. It saved me when i bricked my TL-WR842ND and couldn't enter failsafe mode as well. Instructions: Bricked TP-Link WDR4300 Version 1 Recovery/Rescue Unbrick Without A Serial Connection Thanks for the suggestions, but if I'm not mistaken, both of th...

Re: Version 1.9.2
Try this: If that doesn't work, try and Google "WDR-4300 unbrick" Thanks for the reply. I've spent several hours looking into it, and this isn't my first rodeo with flashing routers and bricking/unbricking them. This time, however, I am unable to enter failsafe mode, which means I can't u...

WDR4300 1.8.1->1.9.2 = brick
After working on a friend's router, I thought I'd run some maintenance on mine. I started off by u pgrading the firmware to 1.9.2 from 1.8.1 on my WDR4300. I made couple of attempts to create backups (on different machines) but they all failed; either freezing and or outputting a 0 byte file. Despit...
