Just a little convenience idea when building a lot of rules that are similar.
When the secondary edit page comes up on the quota rules, it could show a third option below to "close and save changes as a new rule"
cheers

Re: Quota usage retains old hosts
OK, I figured out one workaround: I removed the quota for "all hosts without individual quotas". Save Rebuild same quota rule. Save. All the noise is gone on quota usage page now. Next time, I'll try just disabling the quota/Save/enable/Save to see if it works as well and could save time r...

Re: Quota usage retains old hosts
I'm not sure how to do what you suggested. I've telnetted in before to install DD-WRT but not experienced enough to take it from the clue you gave. Hoping that somebody can give me information on how to do this within Gargoye or else a little more detail on the procedure with telnet. A button for &q...

Quota usage retains old hosts
Hi, don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but I would like a workaround if there is one. I'm finding that when I go to the quota page I have to wade through a lot of old (weeks old) hosts that were assigned by DHCP to get to the ones that we are using now. I've got a lease time of 2 hours, and t...

Re: Quotas for downstream routers running DHCP
Well, I've got it up and running on a Linksys WRT54GS using a Buffalo HP-G54 running DD-WRT as the access point. In a way, it's the best of both worlds as DD-WRT has much finer controls and monitoring of the radio and Gargoyle, of course, has the critical control and monitoring of the Quota/QOS aspe...

Hostname or Nickname label
When setting up Quota rules, I'm using groups of IPs (thanks!) and so no way that a hostname will show through on the various status, etc pages, which are so useful. So, I find myself using a reference table so I can tell that the quota group ((192.168.1.65-192.168.1.75) + 192.168.1.4 ) is actually ...

Re: Quotas for downstream routers running DHCP
What I suggest is a little more flexible because each house can use Gargoyle to divide up Quota and Bandwidth between users within the house while your main router would handle the contention between houses. Requires Gargoyle on all routers as I suggested. OK, gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. ...

Re: Quotas for downstream routers running DHCP
I would think that each household should have its own NATing router .... The above would also help you in your QoS strategy which I would think would be the next thing you would investigate since your bandwidth is limiited. .... If each is given a daily quotat that is a percentage of the overall da...

Quotas for downstream routers running DHCP
Hi all - I'm managing a small community network that shares a limited bandwidth (Satelite) and daily quota. It looks like Gargoye is really going to help. Our network is complex in that each of the 6 households has it's own wireless AP. Some of those APs are wired directly to the router and others r...
