Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?

Re: help me choose new router for gargoyle
Out of those three, the Buffalo WZR HP G450H seems like the best because it has 2.4GHz/5GHz dual band and 32MB flash (so it should be supported by Gargoyle/OpenWRT for a long time). That TP Link has a small 8MB flash.salvanost wrote:hello i need new router, i could filter and list available router to buy, but i still need advice which one to buy

The WZR HP G300NH2 also has 32MB flash but is 2.4GHz single band. It's what I use as my primary/personal router and it works great as of 1.8.1/1.9. That said, if you're considering this one, keep an eye on eBay (or other websites) for used units because they sometimes sell cheap (not exactly a very popular router).
QoS Tip: Don't complicate your QoS settings. Gargoyle evenly splits available bandwidth between active devices as needed. Just delete all your classification rules and leave only one normal service class and you're done. No more arguing over bandwidth.
Re: help me choose new router for gargoyle
should i check if my devices support 5ghz?

is it safe to use g450 with gargoyle 1.9?UPDATE (September 2015):
PLEASE CONSIDER r27240 AS THE LAST FULLY TESTED VERSION FOR THE Rev0 PCB G450H (Open your router and look for PCB label if unsure - Remember this, as with altering firmware WILL invalidate your Buffalo Warranty and Support!)
THERE WILL BE NO MORE RELEASES FOR Rev0 PCBs AS THE >26MB BARRIER CONFIRMED BY HARLEKIN PREVENTS UPDATES
DO NOT UPDATE Rev0 G450H's to higher than r27240 - You WILL brick your router!
UPDATE 2 (September 2015):
PLEASE CONSIDER r27805 AS THE LAST FULLY TESTED VERSION FOR THE Rev1 PCB G450H (Open your router and look for PCB label if unsure - Remember this, as with altering firmware WILL invalidate your Buffalo Warranty and Support!)
THERE WILL BE NO MORE RELEASES FOR Rev1 PCBs AS THERE APPEARS TO BE A ~27MB BARRIER PREVENTING UPDATES
DO NOT UPDATE Rev1 G450H's to higher than r27805 - You WILL brick your router!
thx

We are all in the same boat, Router purchase is a risk
